Position: Team Leader Growth and Employment in States - GEMS 4
Objective of the Programme
The aim of the programme is to address underlying constraints within the wholesale and retail sectors in order to increase economic growth, employment and incomes. The programme will be active in 4 states and will utilise the Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P) approach to ensure that interventions are pro-poor and inclusive of vulnerable groups.
Objectives of the Role
We are seeking applications from highly experienced wholesale and retail market development experts for the role of Team Leader on the DFID-funded Growth and Employment in States (GEMS) 4 programme in Nigeria.
The role of Team Leader will involve lead responsibilities for ensuring the effective delivery of all programme outputs, as well as overall management of the programme staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
Delivering a comprehensive overview of the retail/wholesale sector in the relevant states
Supporting and overseeing the development of a comprehensive market analysis, using an M4P approach
Development of an effective monitoring and evaluation strategy.
Ensuring the participation and engagement of key stakeholders within the Nigerian wholesale/retail sectors
Oversight and quality control in relation to programme activities
Delivery of key reports and workplans
Requirements:
At least 10 years of experience, preferably within the wholesale and retail sectors.
Strong experience managing teams under donor funded programmes.
Significant networking and relationship management skills, as well as project management expertise
Understanding of key approaches to monitoring and evaluation and the delivery of value for money
Desirable
Previous experience working with DFID
Understanding of the M4P approach preferred
Working experience in Nigeria
Length of the Project: 5 years
