Job Description
- Provide report and ensure completeness, validity & accuracy of the GL accounts which local finance holds ownership in line with the FCP manual.
- Maintenance of proper record and documentation of SME investments.
- Maintenance of Fixed Asset Movement schedule and fixed asset register.
Responsibilities
- Prepare fixed assets movement schedule agreeing to the general ledger.
- Ensure proper treatment and classification of all fixed assets.
- Ensure no erroneous entries are posted into the fixed assets accounts.
- Ensure proper documentation for all additions to fixed assets.
- Prepare SME investment movement schedule monthly.
- Ensure proper tracking of income and repayment on SME investments.
- Manages the SME accounts and ensure proper record keeping and filing.
- Prepare daily GL Reconciliation
- Prepare monthly GL reconciliation and ensure all balances are substantiated.
- Prepare the Fixed Assets Schedule and undertake monthly reconciliation of the fixed assets register with the ledger.
- Investigate and monitor all Receivables and Payables Accounts
- Investigate all unusual items of Suspense & Sundry Accounts
- Escalate outstanding items that are within FCP manual thresholds
Qualifications & Skills
- Professional qualifications in Accounting and Finance e.g. ACCA, ACA plus at least five years work experience in an Accountingdepartment of a financial institution.
- Good Aptitude
- Good Analytical/writing skills
- General high level of computer literacy and understanding of business computing environment
- Good communications and interpersonal skills
- In compliance with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Act of 2004, all applicants should ensure that they have completed the mandatory NYSC programme. A discharge certificate will be required as evidence of completion of the programme. Where an exemption has been granted, a certificate of exemption will also be required.
